Facebook hires a student of (IIT-Delhi) for Rs 65 lakh a year

Social networking site Facebook will now have an employee from the Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi.

After trying - and failing - to recruit students from the institute last year, Facebook came back to the campus this year and chose 21-year-old Ankur Dahiya, a student of computer science engineering.

Dahiya's annual salary package is around Rs 65 lakh.

"Ever since I heard Facebook would come to recruit, I wanted to get in. It was a long-standing dream. My parents were obviously elated," said Dahiya, who belongs to Rohtak in Haryana.

This is the first time that Facebook has recruited a student from IIT-Delhi. The social networking giant had hired a student from IIT-Chennai last year.

The company, started in February 2004, has scouted for talent at many other IIT campuses in India this year. Unlike last year when it hired only two students from India, Facebook is eyeing the country as a talent hub this time around.

Dahiya will be placed in Palo Alto, California as a programmer after he finishes his course next year.

"The interview and the test were completely subject-based. They asked me to do some encoding and
programming," said Dahiya, whose all-India rank in the IIT-JEE exam was 56.

Facebook was unable to hire any student last year as they expressed a desire to come to the campus a tad too late.

This time around, however, they were in the first batch of employers.

Veena Malik Photo shoot for indian FHM Men’s Magazine

Veena has not only revealed it all but has even gone ahead and got an ISI tattoo on her arms. This picture has been shot by ace photographer Vishal Saxena.

The issue also has Veena talking about controversial topics like burqas and work related visas.

10-year-old Mexican girl gives birth to baby boy after 31-week pregnancy

A 10-year-old Mexican girl has given birth to a baby boy after a 31 week pregnancy, according to reports.

The premature infant, which weighed 3.3 pounds, was born by Caesarian section at the Women’s Hospital in the city of Puebla and is in the intensive care unit recovering from pneumonia.

The young mother, who is from the nearby San Francisco Totimehuacan community, has returned home after the procedure but visits the baby every day to breastfeed, officials said.

The Puebla state Attorney General’s Office is now investigating whether the girl could have been raped and who the father is, the hospital’s director Rogelio Gonzalez said, according to UpFrontNewswire.

Mexican state laws say young moms are unable to have abortions unless a girl can prove she was the victim of sexual assault.

The state’s minimum age of consent is 12 and women who undergo abortions in Puebla face a fine or prison sentence if they are unable to prove they were sexually abused.

The laws are currently under review.

The girl, who has not been named, arrived at the medical facility on Oct. 22, suffering from life-threatening complications, including seizures.

Hospital officials said the newborn is in a good condition considering his premature birth and the mother is
recovering well.

This is not the first case of a shockingly young girl giving birth in Mexico.

In August last year, 11-year-old Amalia had a child two weeks premature after she was denied an abortion by the local Justice Department during the fourth month of pregnancy.

iPhone Photo Printer

This is the first printer that prints 4×6 quality photos directly from a docked iPhone or iPod touch, the printer also charges a docked iPhone or iPod touch. Also connects to Android phones (requires mini-USB cable), iPad, and iPad2.

“Requiring no computer or software, the printer is controlled from your iPhone via a free downloadable app. In less than a minute and without ink cartridges, it prints crystal-clear 300 dpi resolution pictures with vibrant colors, thanks to patented paper embedded with yellow, magenta, and

cyan dye crystals.” Very good idea.
