Japan Created Defensive Cyber Weapon

The Japanese equivalent of Q seems to be developing a bit of code that would act as a cyber army and trace, identify, waterboard and disable various sources of cyber-attacks. Meanwhile, WW2 treaty doesn’t say anything about that.
According to the local media reports, development of the virtual cyber weapon has started four years ago. Since then, it has already been tested in some closed network environment. Industry experts assume that similar cyber weapons are already in use in some countries, including the United States of America and China. However, Japan has a number of legal problems deploying the weapon.

The matter is that after World War II, Japan has got a number of quite tough rules on who the country is able to invade, while there are no mentions about the use of cyberweapons. That’s why the speculations are that both the Defense Ministry and Foreign Ministry have started legislative consideration about how to use this
virus. In the meantime, the Defense Ministry's Technical Research and Development Institute, which is engaged into the development of this weapon, outsourced the above mentioned project to Fujitsu. As a result, after three years the virus is ready to defend the country from all enemies, including North Korea.

The Japanese technology features the outstanding ability to trace cyber-attack sources. It is also able to find the immediate source of threats, along with the ability to "springboard" computers used to transmit the virus. The weapon disables these and gathers relevant data on the attacker. Finally, the software is able to shut down Denial-of-Service attacks and prevent the low-tech cyber attacks.

India Became Spam Giant

The oldest civilization in the globe has become the largest source of spam, according to a report presented by Kaspersky Lab. The insecurity outfit claims that spammers have made use of lax legislation and absent policing to make the world's spam hub out of the country.
Kaspersky explained that more spam was sent from India than anywhere else in the globe in the third quarter of 2011. According to its report, 80% of email traffic was spam. Of that, 15% originated in India, 11% came from Indonesia, and 10% from Brazil. The company’s spam engineer Darya Gudkova claimed that there was a growing trend for junk mail to be sent from PCs in Asia and Latin America.

Today India became one of the best places for spammers to set up due to the lack of awareness about online security and anti-spam legislation, which had given spammers free reign. Apparently, the spammers preferred to outsource their operations in India when other countries cracked down on the practice.

Although the Indians created the Information Technology Act 12 years ago, which was supposed to address spammers, nobody has been convicted under it thus far. Anyway, India appeared to be a great place for a
spammer to set up, since it has 112 million online users, which makes it the third n the world after China and the US. In other words, there’s a great local market to target even before having a crack at the Europeans and Americans.

Darya Gudkova explained that online hygiene from the use of anti-virus software or good passwords appears poor among people, companies and even the government. Meanwhile, Gudkova told during the interview that this lack of awareness in the country helps cyber criminals to easily create botnets.

How to Jailbreak iPhone 5

Apple 5th generation iPhone , iPhone 5 is far from its official release ,
but iPhone Dev team have the exploit to jailbreak iPhone 5 ready
before its release . Famous iPhone Jailbreaker George Hotz aka
Geohot  , is the first among the jailbreakers community to have a
working jailbreak for iPhone 5 . He has not revealed the jailbreak
exploit yet but claims that the jailbreak tool can jailbreak future
versions of iPhone which has to be iPhone 5 coming this July .
The Jailbreak has not been revealed , but it must be a bootrom exploit and not a userland jailbreak which can be easily patched by Apple iOS 5 updates . Bootrom exploits are hardware based exploits that needs fixing hardware components to
avoid the iphone from being jailbroken. This is not possible at least for the lifetime of the device as Apple
has no control over the hardware of your phone which you have purchased .

Google Will Punish Itself for Chrome Advertising

Search giant Google will punish itself for violating its own advertising policy – the company is going to drop the search ranking of the Chrome website for 2 months. The reason was that Google paid hundreds of bloggers to claim this Internet browser was the best.

A number of the paid blog posts featured cut and paste "garbage" text, containing links to the pages where Internet users were able to download the web browser. Meanwhile, if any other company did the same, it would have been banned from the search engine index for at least a month and up to a year. However, Google made an exception for Chrome.

It seems that Google is now blaming Chrome's advertising companies, though it claimed today that it would now reduce the page ranking of the browser home page as a punishment. The search giant made some updates to its algorithm in order to penalize websites offering so-called "thin" content and thus reducing their search rankings. Nevertheless, Danny Sullivan from Search Engine Land managed to find 400 examples of blog posts sponsored by the search engine.

According to media reports, links to sites mentioned in sponsored posts should have included the so-called "nofollow" tag, i.e. they weren’t meant to be used to determine a site's ranking on the Google index. Thus far, it’s the 3rd time that the company has banned one of its own acquired companies –in 2011, BeatThatQuote.com was also banned for infringing its search guidelines, as well as Google Japan has been
punished for paid posts as well. Meanwhile, a digital media agency working with the search giant on the campaign, UK’s Essence Digital, claimed that Google hadn’t known about a sponsored-post campaign, though the company agreed to purchase online video adverts.

American Police Refused to Hand Over Hackers to France

While the American government requires that UK citizens are dragged into one of their courts to face sixty-year sentences, it looks like it is not even reluctant to hand over one of its own hackers over to a more sensible French court.


The US cyclist Floyd Landis had a go at cracking the PCs of the anti-doping lab that found him cheating during Tour de France 6 years ago. He was charged by the court in Paris, which heard how he and his former coach refused to show up in court. In addition, they both were helped by the government of the United States that refused to co-operate against the US hackers.

It turned out that Landis was similar to a UK hacker looking for UFOs or an Australian who published secret tapes of the US helicopter pilots who laughed as they gun down Reuters journalists. Anyway, the authorities seem to be reluctant to hand over American sporting heroes when they do the same sort of thing.

In fact, the French did have enough evidence to convict both Landis and Baker after a Trojan horse spy program was used 6 years ago to poke into the lab's servers to extract data about Landis' file, several months after he tested positive. After this, Landis admitted that he took drugs in his career. Meanwhile, the police
explained that they couldn’t turn up who exactly ordered the hacking, thanks to the American authorities sitting on their hands. The data received during the hack was later used in an unsuccessful appeal to sports authorities. It was supposed to prove that Landis was clean and that the lab work was actually faulty. The court decided that Landis' role was limited to the knowledge that he had about the fraudulent origin of the laboratory data used by him and his defense team.The court also ruled that Landis knew that these lab results were really accurate, because he would admit 4 years later that he had taken drugs since 2002.

While Landis didn’t comment the trial, Baker insisted that the charges weren’t true. He said that he had nothing to do with any hacking and as far as he knew, the lab papers he received while serving as an expert consultant to the legal team were received in a legal way. He believes that everything is part of a plot to protect the laboratory, which appears to be a national French institution. As a result, they were both given a year's suspended sentences, which means that there’s probably nothing to worry about unless they ever commit another crime in this country again.

Amazing transparent pathway. A glass path was built on the side
of a cliff on Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, China. The ‘Skywalk’ is about 4700 feet (1,430m) above sea level

Paris Hilton Converts to Islam

JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia – Former American socialite, Paris Hilton has converted to Islam, her spokesman, Ian Brinkham, has revealed to CBS news.

The American socialite’s personal spokesman Ian Brinkham, announced on CBS News that “She has been toying with the idea for quite a while now and when she was imprisoned at Century Regional Detention Facility in 2007, she encountered a few people who had already converted”.

No one knows for sure whether she converted or not, but Paris claims that she’d like to spread the words of the Qur’aan around the world, while opening an Islamic school in Beverly Hills this July to encourage more Hollywood celebs to go on a spiritual quest. The hotel heiress decided to ditch her old life.

Speaking from an Islamic study retreat in Jeddah, she said: “I have now found total peace in my life. Before, I used to be known as an STD-ridden streetwalker , a ‘hoe’ and a person of loose morals, but now, things have changed. Allah be praised.” “Forget Scientology or Kaballah.

“Forget Scientology or Kaballah. This is the religion to be in now. I’m not going to be wearing a piece of red string on my wrist or walk around like a robot talking to Xenu. Islam is the new
must-have religion, and I’m going to spread the word of the Koran to everyone,” an excited Paris Hilton said.

Paris Hilton also plans to change her name to ‘Tahirah’ which means ‘Pure, chaste’ in Arabic. Her Islamic school will open in July and is set to become a popular Hollywood spiritual haunt for many celebrities.

Well, I guess we’ll all have to wait and see if she really wants to be Muslim, or just thinks its “hot” to convert!

Woman burns friend’s house down after she deleted her off of Facebook

Authorities in Iowa say a 30-year-old woman attempted to burn down a couple’s house last week in retaliation for being unfriended in Facebook. Jennifer Christine Harris, of Des Moines, is being held in Polk County Prison on $100,000 bond after she allegedly set fire to Jim and Nikki Rasmussen‘s garage, forcing the couple to flee their home in the middle of the night, the Des Moines Register reports.

The siding on the house melted and the garage roof collapsed, according to reports. The Rasmussens only managed to escape the blaze after a loud booming sound woke them up. “It was ablaze at 1 a.m. It was just totally engulfed,” neighbor Dominic Formaro told ABC News.

Police say that investigations show Harris’ motive was connected to an argument she and Nikki had over Facebook. “The two are no longer friends due to a dispute over Facebook,” Jim Rasmussen told officials with the Des Moines Police Department. “According to Nikki, Jen is angry with her because she ended their friendship on Facebook.”

According to Detective Jack Kamerick, the dispute had much to do with a Facebook event the former-best
friends were planning. “Jen asked Nikki to create an event on Facebook for a party. Nikki did that,” Kamerick told the Register. “As the date for the party approached there were a lot of ‘declines,’ on Facebook. It was looking like the party might be a bust. The dispute apparently blossomed.”

The tension between Harris and Nikki apparently became so great that when police asked the Rasmussens who might have wished to harm them, the couple immediately pointed the finger at their former friend.

Police charged Jennifer Harris with first degree arson.

World’s Shortest Woman

A high school student in central India was recognized as the world’s shortest woman by Guinness World Records on Friday as she turned 18 and said she hopes to earn a degree and make it in Bollywood.

Who Was the First Hacker?

New Scientist has recently revealed the name of the world's first hacker, who managed to discover a security hole in Marconi's wireless telegraph and managed to show the inventor up.

It turned out that a stage magician named Nevil Maskelyn wrecked a public demo of Marconi's wireless telegraph over a century ago, in 1903, – he sent insults in Morse code down the wire. The crowd was really amused when the physicist John Ambrose Fleming has been adjusting arcane apparatus while preparing to show the long-range wireless communication system created by his boss, the Italian radio pioneer Guglielmo Marconi, who was several hundreds miles away trying to send the message.

However, before the show could start, the apparatus in the lecture theater started to tap out a message – it appeared to be a poem accusing Marconi of "diddling the public". Fleming's assistant found out that beaming powerful wireless pulses into the theater were strong enough to be able to interfere with the electric arc discharge lamp of the projector. The apparatus began spelling "Rats" repeatedly and after this ripped into the
poem.

That’s how Maskelyn proved that Marconi's item was insecure, and the others could easily eavesdrop on private messages as well. Meanwhile, Fleming fired off a missive to the Times, calling the hack “scientific hooliganism” and asking the readers to help him find the hacker. Nevertheless, Maskelyn, whose family earned money by making "spend-a-penny" locks in pay toilets, outed himself 4 days later. He tried to justify his actions by the security holes it discovered for the public good. He used Morse code in his mind-reading tricks and managed to send wireless messages between a ground station and a balloon located 10 miles away. Nevertherless, Maskelyn was stuffed up by the fact that Marconi had patents on his technology but failed to develop it.

It later appeared that he was hired as a spy for the Eastern Telegraph Company that was worried that Marconi could stuff up its business.

The first hacker built a 50-metre radio mast somewhere on the cliffs in order to find out if he could eavesdrop on messages beamed by Marconi Company to vessels. As a result, Maskelyn pointed out that Marconi’s security was a doddle to hack. Although Maskelyne's name had been forgotten, he is now again in the history books as the world's first hacker.

Arrest warrants issued against Meesha Shafi

Meesha shafi who is currently busy shooting in India for her new Hollywood flick is countered by her ex- Farhad Humayun. Lahore court issued arrest warrants against Meesha Shafi and Mehmood Rehman on Monday for allegedly stealing equipment from the studio of farhad.

According to Pakistan Today, Farhad, the founding member and drummer of the band Overload, had accused the two of stealing equipment from his studio. The couple confessed to the crime in court, the source added.

It is pertinent to mention that Meesha was the lead vocalist and Mehmood the lead guitarist of Farhad's band, and the couple parted ways with the band last year due to
creative and practical differences.

Pakistan maintains top slot in Google search for ‘Sex'

With over 20 million internet users and growing fast, Pakistan has managed to secure the number one slot for searching the term ‘sex’ globally for all years.

According to a 2010 Fox News report, Pakistan had outranked all countries in Google searches for pornographic terms last year. Narrowing the analytics for the search term to just 2011, Pakistan maintained the number one position, followed by India and Vietnam.

Islamabad featured in the top 10 cities worldwide to search the word ‘sex’ in September and December 2011.

Provincial capital Lahore also featured in the top 10 cities for the months of January, March, April, May, June, July, September, October, November and December 2011.

The months of February and August (Ramazan) were the only two months in 2011 that did not feature any cities from Pakistan in the global ranking.


How does Google Trends work?

Google Trends analyzes a portion of Google web searches to compute how many searches have been done for the terms entered, relative to the total number of searches done on Google over time.

To rank the top regions, cities, or languages, Google Trends first looks at a sample of all Google searches to determine the areas or languages from which they received the most searches for the first term. Then, for those top cities, Google Trends calculates the ratio of searches for the term coming from each city divided by total Google searches coming from the same city.

The city ranking and the bar charts alongside each city name both represent this ratio.

Google Trends uses IP address information from server logs to make a best guess about where queries originated.
